Each of its inhabitants is modest, but their republic is imposing.” Jules Michelet, La Mer. “To Michelet’s vision, coral can be seen as a labourer, capable of erecting gigantic works of architecture through a communal effort. And so here, the pool becomes the sea. Flowers become the slowly dying corals. &nbsp; &nbsp; Corals are animals that mostly live in symbiosis with algae. The algae use the corals’ waste for photosynthesis. In return, the corals benefit as the algae produce oxygen and supply the organic products that corals need to grow. Due to the rising of the ocean temperatures,&nbsp; the algae get rejected by the corals which causes the corals to bleach and increase their chance to die.
